Jess and Lachie’s Dungog wedding fell on the most gorgeous, sunny spring day.
Both Jess and Lachie got ready at venues in Dungog town before making their way out to Dungog Weddings, where their ceremony was held overlooking a stunning dam. The centrepiece of the ceremony was a towering timber arch handmade by the groom himself.
And then came one of the most unforgettable entrances of the day.
Jess rode in on her beautiful horse, Jett, before walking down the aisle with her father to an emotional Lachie. Their gorgeous Labrador puppy, Cadbury, was also part of the wedding party, making the ceremony even more personal to the two of them.
A spring wedding in the Hunter Valley
After the ceremony, we headed out to make the most of the incredible Hunter Valley landscapes for their wedding portraits. We had everything- spring blossoms, mountaintop views and a fairy floss-coloured sunset.
Jess and Lachie, along with their bridal party, were such a fun group that their portraits felt less like a photo session and more like an extension of the party. There was plenty of laughter and so much genuine connection between them all.
A rustic reception at Dungog Weddings
Back at Dungog Weddings, guests gathered in the gorgeous rustic shed space for the reception.
And instead of a traditional wedding meal, Jess and Lachie treated everyone to a Mexican food van feast — such a fun and unexpected touch that perfectly suited the relaxed atmosphere of the day.
The celebrations continued late into the night with Hunter Valley-based band Auldberry, keeping everyone on the dance floor.
A second dress, line dancing & lots of laughter
Jess had one more surprise up her sleeve for Lachie, changing into a fun second dress for a special reveal.
The night then finished with Jess and her girlfriends taking over the dance floor for a line dance they had learnt together at her hens- the perfect ending to a day that was full of personality, laughter and fun.
A perfect fit
Amongst all the laughter and fun, it was abundantly obvious that these two are completely head over heels for each other. Jess and Lachie have that beautiful kind of partnership where they seem to naturally know what the other needs- bringing calm when it's needed, bringing plenty of laughter when it's not, and supporting each other throughout the day.
It was such a privilege to photograph their Dungog wedding and all the little moments that made it uniquely theirs.
I wish these two a long life of love, laughter and adventures together. 🤍
